Topic: Dynamically *modifying* PDF files

I've been silently reading this forum with interest, including the messages about generating PDF files on the fly using PDFLib, etc.

But what if you only wanted to *modify* an existing PDF file?

Lets say that you have a PDF booklet (too complex to programatically generate in full with PDFLib) in which a few text fields are marked in some way (eg. bookmarks) and you want to programatically replace those peices of text with some other text known at runtime (leaving everthing else in there alone), thereby creating a customised version of an PDF existing document (not a whole one from scratch).

How would you go about this in both Client and Server scenarious?

In the Client case (Windows), is this something you could write an Acrobat plug-in for using the Adobe SDK?

In the Server case (Linux/PHP), what tool would be needed (keeping the cost down as this is a homer)?

Hope this isn't a stupid question because I've missed something here :-)

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
