Topic: FDF toolkit requirements

I have posted this in the Forms & FDF conference, but thought that it possibly should go here, also. If not, please ignore.

I'm using forms to collect data from customers. They are sending the FDF files as attachments to an e-mail message (instead of doing it over the web). I then am going to create a C/C++ program which will extract the data, and put it into a text file. The requirements for the toolkit say that a web server and Acrobat 4.0 installed (among other things) are needed. It seems to me, that the web server would only be needed if the form was to be used on the web, and Acrobat would only need to be installed for the same thing or for displaying on the server side (to connect the FDF file with the PDF file). Is this true? Can I get away with not installing Acrobat 4.0 or a web server for what I need to do? I do have Acrobat 4.0, but not for the correct system (it is for Windows, and I would need it for Unix). I also would not want to install a web server just for this one purpose. Any help would be appreciated. - Jeremy

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
