I've seen the question before, but didn't understand the answer. I have this code in vb (see below) and I've set my default printer to be distiller. When I execute the code the name of the pdf file in the pdfoutput directory is: Seagate Crystal Reports - "the truncated name of my report".pdf. I want to know if I can strip off the "Seagate Crytal Report-" and thus avoid my file's report name being truncated. When I used access basically saying "DoCmd.OpenReport rep, acViewNormal, , "ProjectID=" & projid" also w/ distiller as the default printer, i didn't get this problem. All of my reports were reportname.pdf Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sub WriteReport(projid As Integer, thereport As String)
Dim app As New CRPEAuto.Application
Dim report As CRPEAuto.report
Dim sectionsvar As Sections
Dim sectionvar As Section
Dim sectionoptionvar As SectionOptions
Dim sql As String
Dim report_to_write As String

report_to_write = REPORT_PATH & thereport & ".rpt"

Set report = app.OpenReport(report_to_write)

report.RecordSelectionFormula = "{Query.proposalid} =" & projid
report.PrintOut False

End Sub
