Hi all

I am working for Actuate group in US. We are the Java group in actuate. Currently we are involved in developing Java based Report writing solutions. The reports generated by the report writer are also exported in various formats like HTML, DHTML, PDF, etc. Recently i was assigned the issue of russian characters if used in our product, do not get exported to all the output formats. I have fixed this for HTML & DHTML outputs by writing the HTML & DHTML files in Unicode format. I have also written the PDF file in Unicode format. But somehow i don't see these russian characters in the PDF file generated. Although the data is being written properly in Unicode format, i don't see russian characters in the ouput. All i see is the garbaged string. As i am new to PDF, can you help me in suggesting what do i need to do for fixing this. I am using Helvetica font to render these characters. Can this be cause of the problem. But i have tried to maually change the font in the PDF file generated to various fonts that can render cyrillic characters(Eg. Arial Unicode MS).

I would be most thakfull to you if you can tell me some solution to this problem.

Regards & Thanx a bunch
