Topic: how to disable 'Save PDF As' prompt in A5 ?

I'm using Acrobat 5 on WinNT to print to Acrobat Distiller printer from an application such as IE5.5, Word, Excel, others.

In File->Print->Properties for each app there is now a in v5 an "Adobe PDF Settings" tab, where it seems you can set the "Prompt for the PDF file name" setting.

I cannot figure out how to set it so that it doesn't prompt for the "Save PDF As" every time the document is re-opened, or why it doesn't set it for all open windows once you change it once. It doesn't stick. It doesn't seem to be something we can set on the Acrobat Distiller printer itself. (Changing this setting in Distiller version 4 used to solve the problem if I remember right.)

There appears to be a registry entry, but it never gets changed (HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\control\print\printers\acrobat distiller\printerdriverdata\PromptForFileName DWORD value=1) when we change the setting in the print properties.

I'm at a loss to understand this one.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
