We have a welcome screen which automatically attaches
an index. We do this by using the File | DocumentInfo | Index when we create the welcome screen in Acrobat. We use this welcome screen to search an index of many files in Mac and Windows using Reader 4 with Search.

So far so good on Windows, but, we have a quirk with the Mac. On the Mac, if we run our index under a folder or from a CD, then move the index and welcome screen to another folder, the Mac Reader 4 remembers the previous location and tries to search two, not one, index. We see two indexes with the same name when clicking the Index button of the Search Results dialog. Windows Reader lists only the current index and works as we want. I realize the Mac users can remove the unwanted index association by using the Remove button of the Index Selection Dialog, but I was hoping for a better way.

Thank you for any ideas,
Don Gardner

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
