Topic: JavaScript getURL -> open local web page

Can this.getURL(cURL) call an HTML file on a local hard drive, e.g. where cURL = 'file///C|folder/foo bar/mydoc.html'? Or should this be where cURL = 'file///C|/folder/foo%20bar/mydoc.html'? This assumes the real address is 'C:\folder\foo bar\mydoc.html'

Or am I barking up the wrong tree - I'm assuming the URL gets called externally in a broswer window - the documentation v4/v5 is a litle, shall we say, terse.

FWIW I've set (v5) a folder level JavaScript to add a menu entry to the Help menu which I'd like to call a local HTML file which actually 'hosts' a compiled HTML help file (.CHM). I'm doing this as a way to help make my Acrobat tips more accessable to novice (Windows based) users but I've clearly stretched my own knowledge a little thin!

Any help greatfully recieved.

Regards to all,

Mark Anderson
