Topic: Menu Item - Add

Where do I add a menu item? The Adobe documentation states you can add a menu item and associate Java Script with it. What I want to do is use the "saveAs" method to save my document to a specific directory and path name.

The Adobe documentation states that, for security purposes, the method can only be executed during batch, console, or menu events. For my purposes the menu event is the best course of action.

When I try to add a menu item using "app.addMenuItem() in the "Page Open" actions (Document ->Set Page Action) I get a security issue. I want to add the "saveAs" method to the menu item. Adobe documentation states I can call the new menu item programmatically during a mouse up event of a button field.

Where can I add the new menu item and not get this security issue? Thank You
