Not necessarily, I expect it is that Acrobat is either expecting 2-way communication or data passed in a particular way that it is not getting. I just need to find a way of changing what Acrobat is expecting.

It is not a simple black and white problem as when I started looking at this none of the PDF's appeared. As I started working on them in Acrobat and changing settings the smaller PDF's appeared fine. Based on that and seeing other messages from people I am simply not convinced the firewall is simply the answer.

Generally I don't think the firewall settings are causing a problem I just think that Acrobat has a problem with Firewalls in certain circumstances. Similar to having to use passive mode for FTP behind some firewalls.

Either way I need to exhaust all other options before even looking at the firewall as to change firewall setup for a global company is not a small suggestion.

If you haven't got any suggestions then I'll try elsewhere...
