Topic: PDF as Help

This is my first visit to the group. Forgive me if this question has been dealt with.
My company prefers to use PDF as Help rather than traditional, and painful to maintain, .HLP files. Currently, our applications open the PDF when Help is requested by way of a "dummy" Help file containing a macro that opens the PDF file then exits WinHelp.
This is the macro (RoboHelp) that we use:
EF(`\path to PDF file\pdf filename.pdf',SW_SHOWNORMAL)
Is there a way to open the PDF at a specific place like context sensitive Help? What I mean is, if a dialog pops up in an application and you want Help on that particular dialog, can you pass the id to the PDF somehow? That is what we used to do when we used Help. Currently, the PDF opens at the first page.
I've gotten information about macro applications but they seem to deal with opening a PDF file from within a Help file. I want to bypass Help completely if possible. Additionally, I use FrameMaker 5.5.6 to write the documentation that the PDF's are created from.
