Is it possible an install program on a CD could require a user to store a password somewhere, and then check that password before opening protected PDF files either stored on the CD or copied from the CD to the hard drive? Therefore, the user would need the CD itself (or a copy of the CD...) to install this utility before viewing the PDFs. Furthermore, once the install had been performed, the PDF files would open automatically, so the user would not be required to enter a password every time after that. If this is possible, is any software available? If not available, could it be developed? This operation would parallel Adobe's PDF Merchant/Web Buy concept, without the on-line, interactive component. Thanks.
