I've created a dummy front page for a networked index that searches for various policies & procedures. On each desk top there is a shortcut to this "front page". On the front page is a "search button" that opens the acrobat search query window, instructions & other info.
My problem is that we just replaced this shortcut file (frontpage)on the shared server, updated the index and found that the search button in acrobat is now greyed out because it no longer points to the index.
If anyone understands at all what I'm trying to communicate here - is there anyway way to automate the user's (Reader) preferences to point to the proper index without having to reset this preference individually on each PC? there are over 200 users and each search property was correctly set to point to a specific index. Now after replacing the "frontpage" it lost the index association.
