Topic: Problem with OLE Method

I have the following code in a Visual Basic
program. The program is designed to convert a fileto
PDF format by opening it in Acrobat and I am having a
problem with the CAcroAVDoc:Open OLE Method. The Open
Method returns a boolean value showing whether the
file opened successfully or not.

The problem is that with the following code the Open
method is returning a value before the file is done
opening. This causes a problem with other OLE methods
I try to send to Acrobat. DoEvents does not help to
remedy the situation either. Is this a bug with the
Acrobat OLE, or is there a way to do it that I am
missing?

Public Function convertToPDF (sFullPath as String)

dim AcroAVDoc as CAcroAVDoc

Set AcroAVDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.AVDoc")

If AcroAVDoc.Open (sFullPath, "") = false then

MsgBox "Cannot Open File"

End if
