I'm not sure how far you will be able to get with automating the whole
thing. Interapplication Communication (automation) doesnt allow any form of
image conversion/manipulation in Acrobat.
Quite possibly you could automate Photoshop to export as PDF, the
documentation for this can be found at:
http://partners.adobe.com/asn/developer/gapsdk/PhotoshopSDK.html you will
need to be able to program in Visual C++. I couldn't find any documentation
on Image Ready - but I believe it can automate almost anything(?).
Also you can download the Acrobat SDK documentation which details DDE/OLE
(IAC) in Acrobat (http://partners.adobe.com/asn/developer/acrosdk/main.html)
If you were looking for something commercial to convert images to PDF then
checkout Import 2.0 from ARTS. There's a demo version available.
