We currently do this same process manually every 30 days. And if we could automate it, it would save us alot of time. Any suggestions.
One of the solutions to be able to create PDF Bookmarks and
links is to use a PostScript Applet.
A PostScript Applet is a small program written in a PostScript
language (levels 2/3), just like an ascii simple text file. Totally
multiplatform (Win, Mac, Unix), we edit it in a text processor to
configure the working preferences in each case. To execute it, we
open it (Distill) with the Acrobat Distiller (4 or 5) and ... voila!
The philosophy of a PostScript Applet gives a lot of agility in
the development (free of interfaces and platforms) and it gives direct
solutions to specific problems in the world of PDF and PostScript.
If you are interested in receiving a Demo of this working
procedure, please let me know and in some days you will receive the
PostScript Applet adapted to your needs.
To personalize your Demo, I need a definite and simple PS
file sample and a brief description to the 'bookmarks' and 'links'
I explain you the most reliable workflow to make the PDF
Bookmarks tree automatically:
PostScript File Document
FemFum PostScript Applet Bookmarking Utility
Adobe Acrobat Distiller
Final .PDF file Document Bookmarked
Hope this helps,
