You can accomplish some things with VB and IAC(InterApplication
Communication), for example you can invoke bookmarks (you must know their
names) and you can add annotations, you can also delete annotations as well.

Check out the IACOVR.pdf and the IACREF.pdf for more details. Use the
example code on CodeCuts to get a handle on automating Acrobat.

Download the Acrobat SDK from the Developers site:
(it's a big download) it's got example code you can use as a base and all
the documentation you need.
