Would these pieces of text be ones where the size wouldn't
change, such that you wouldn't have to worry about wrapping?

Would PDF form fields work as "placeholders", provided that
the form fields could be removed during the fill-in process.

Sure, this would be a perfect use for a plug-in!

On Windows, you might also want to look at using something
like PDFToolkit from ActivePDF () which is
a COM/ActiveX object that you could use to work with form fields and
limited content needs.

On Linux, the only tool that I am aware of for content (or
form field) manipulation of a PDF document is our SPDF library
(). However, it is a high-end library and is
priced appropriately.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
