Sure.

You would use SQL to get the data from the database and then
the FDFToolkit (or similiar) to generate the FDF file that can either
then be sent to the user (whose browser then merges it with the PDF)
or you can do server-side merging of the data into a PDF and then
just return the PDF.

Sure you do! How else do you get the data from the database
into the PDF, UNLESS you are using a 3rd party toolkit that can write
to PDF form fields BUT doesn't use FDF? Are you doing that?

Sure, a few of them!

It's used by LOTS of people ALL the time! It's been around
for a number of years(!) now and is used by numerous web sites, from
the government to small business.

If you want to add content to a PDF page, but in such a way
that isn't in a form field, you'll need to look at some 3rd party
products for running on your server such as StampPDFBatch
().

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
