the author property of the doc object is readable and writable. So, what you do if
you want to display the author (etc.) property of your document, is create a field
and let its value be the author (etc.) property.

the Acrobat Forms JavaScript Object Specification should be clear on how to do

Hope, this can help.

>Say I have a PDF with the Author, etc. already filled in in File>Doc
Info>General window(it gets there from Distilling a Word doc that had the info
filled in).
>I want to add to a page in this PDF a form field that will get the Author name
from this metadata. All I see in the AcroFormsJS Object Spec document from
Adobe is the ability to define this data ( = "John Smith"), but not GET it
if it already exists. Surely if you can set it you can get it?! Can someone tell me
the Jscript Syntax?

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
