Well, you've got a couple of options that I can see...


1) Requires your users to have the FULL Acrobat, and then write a
plugin for it. The reason that you can NOT use Reader is that you
will be needing to modify the PDF and then send the signed PDF back
to the server, and Reader doesn't support modifying documents.

2) Build your own "mini-Acrobat", where the rasterization of the PDF
document is done on the server (using a 3rd party library like SPDF -
http://www.appligent.com), and then xferred to a Java applet running
in the client's browser. Your applet then handles all the user
interaction/signing, etc. and simply returns enough information about
the server so that all signing, PDF modification, etc. actually
happens there.

That's my thoughts....
