Egbert,
that is just what it says. You would have to provide your own
security handler which jumps in when a protected document is about to
be opened. As writing your own could be a major project, it might be
worthwile looking around for commerical products, such as FileOpen
PDF by FileOpen (http://www.fileopen.com).
