Yup, either use an existing tool or write your own...

IF Adobe were still licensing their PDFLibrary, and you could
afford it, then this would indeed work just fine. However, Adobe'
library is not being licensed at this time - see
.

If you wish to use those same API's, then you'll want to
check out SPDF from Digital Applications ().
SPDF is a C/C++ library that is Adobe PDFLibrary-compatible (ie. same
API's) available for Mac OS, Windows, Unix and even the IBM 390!

If you are on Windows, and prefer to use COM/ActiveX then
check out ActivePDF's PDFToolkit ().

You'll accomplish your task a LOT quicker using an existing
tool like FDFMerge from Digital Applications
(), but if you feel the need to reinvent the
wheel, the above tools should point you in the right direction.
