The problem is that I need platform independence. My application is written
in Java for that reason. Are DDE and/or Acrobat IAC usable outside a
windows environment? Are there any Java libs for printing PDF? Adobe
Acrobat Viewer Java classes allow printing but only via a gui and I want
silent batch printing. Can this be quite as hard as it seems?

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
