There are some possibilities to reduce the file size. The very first one is
to start at the source document level, and use vector graphics instead of
bitmaps (unless the drawing is getting too complex). Also, optimize the
complete document and make sure that your server will be configured
properly to byteserve it.
If ever possible, avoid bitmaps. If you need them, downsample them to 72 dpi.
