Although not being commandline driven, the Asura software from german company OneVision (www.onevision.com) is the absolutelt best software when it comes to creating PDFs for printing. It is hotfolder driven in the same manner that Distiller works, but if youre serious about the printing part, I'd recommend a deeper look.
