Hi Leonard & Aandi,

I have to replace an image in a PDF file with some other image. I'm able to
modify RGB images without problems. But when it comes to CMYK images, even
though I'm replacing the image with a CMYK JPG image, the image is not
getting displayed properly on the PDF file. Along with replacing the CMYK
image, i'm also modifying the /WIDTH & /HEIGHT in the object header with the
new image dimensions.

eg :-
CMYK Image Object
----------------

25 0 obj
<<
/Type /XObject
/Subtype /Image
/Width 165 - i'm replacing this value with the new image width
/Height 216 - i'm replacing this value with the new image height
/BitsPerComponent 8
/ColorSpace /DeviceCMYK
/Length 15018 - - i'm replacing this value with the new image length
/Filter /DCTDecode
>>
stream
new image data goes here
endstream
endobj

I would like to know if there is any other section in the PDF File that i
need to modify apart from this image object to get the image displayed
properly. What precautions should i take when replacing CMYK images ?? Can I
replace the CMYK image in the PDF with any other CMYK image or do i have to
do more ?

Once again thanks

You will not find simply presented information on this subject. You have the
specifications: PDF and JPEG format.

I don't understand your reply. You say that the first one, with DCTDecode,
isn't working, but you say that the effect of /Decode is to invert the
colours. Yet, that implies you are seeing something on screen. I can't
refer to your earlier post because this doesn't seem to be a reply to it.
More detail please.
