To get started using IAC you need to reference the Acrobat.tlb file from the
\Acrobat 4.0\Acrobat directory. This library contains all the object
reference you need to automate Acrobat.
Use the IACREF.pdf file and look at the FindText method, there are other
methods which are linked to this one, but this should get you started.
Dim Exch As Acrobat.CAcroApp
Dim AVDoc As Acrobat.CAcroAVDoc
Dim AVPageView As Acrobat.CAcroAVPageView
Dim PDDoc As Acrobat.CAcroPDDoc
Dim PDPage As Acrobat.CAcroPDPage
Dim PDText As Acrobat.CAcroPDTextSelect
Set Exch = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
Set AVDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.AVDoc")
Set PDDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
AVDoc.Open "c:\temp\file1.pdf", ""
Set AVPageView = AVDoc.GetAVPageView
Set PDDoc = AVDoc.GetPDDoc
'/ Find the Text
AVDoc.FindText "SomeText", False, False, False
