Topic: SDK 4.05 Save without user interaction

I have the Acrobat 4.0 upgrade 4.05 product and the SDK 4.05 product. I am looking for a way to use the API to handle TIF images and build a PDF folder structure that link to individual tif page and store the complete document as PDF format. The development language is VB 6.0. The problem that i experienced is the saving of the PDF document that force a Save dialog to be displayed. Is it possible using VB to disable the save dialog box and is there some sample vb code available?

I wrote a quick test program that load a tif file and save it as PDF format. The code use the AcroExch.APP, AcroExch.AVDOC objects.

Here are some vb lines of code:

Dim pvAPP as CAcroAPP
Dim pvAVDoc as CAcroAVDoc

Set pvAPP = CreateObject("AcroExch.APP")
set pvAVDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.AVDoc")
pvAVDoc.Open "c:\MyTIF.tif", "e:\temp\NewPDF.pdf"
pvAVDoc.Close False
set pvAVDoc

1) The line
"pvAVDoc.Open("c:\MyTIF.tif", "e:\temp\NewPDF.pdf")" should return true if the document has been opened properly but it returns false even if the document appears in the Acrobat window. Why?

2) I created a PDDoc object and use the Create method that works fine but how can i link the AVDoc object to it?

How can i include the TIF image once i have a PDDoc object?

3) I created a PDDoc object and use the Open method providing the TIF file as the input name but that always fails cause it expects a PDF file.

4) How can i force the Acrobat to save without being prompted to confirm to save the document?

Thanks for your help!

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
