PDF Gurus,

We need to stamp a bunch of pdf documents programatically. The way I see it there are two good ways to accomplish this:

1. Stamp text on the pdf pages with stamppdf or activepdf server
downside: pdf's that are images often won't take the stamp properly!
Ideosynchrosies with diverse kinds of pdf's!

2. create fields for each document and stamp there.
downside: ???

People in the pdf groups seem to be down on method two; why? With
it, one can set values in fields to appear in certain circumstances, which seems
great since a lot of the pdf's with which we deal are complete images.

Is there a better way of handling this?

Thanks for any insights.
