Topic: Xobject Forms that don't work

I've been searching forums and newsgroups for a few days trying to find examples or instructions on how to use Xobject Forms to make overlays for my PDF files with no luck. None of the Clib or PDFLib source supports this either.....

Here is a sample of what I have working (the line, called /P0, is an OVERLAY I will use on multiple pages, similar to a watermark, etc):
/////
%PDF-1.3.1 0 obj << /Creator (Rob Guckenberger Version 2.10.000b)./CreationDate (1/31/2001 15:05:07)./Author (Registered to: XSFT )./Title (joe_app)>> endobj.4 0 obj << /Length 53/Type /XObject /SubType /Form /BBox [0 0 855 930 ] /FormType 1 /Matrix [1 0 0 1 0 0] /Name /P0 >>.stream.0.24 0 0 0.24 0 0 cm.0 G 1 w 300 2940 m 795 2670 l S.endstream.endobj.5 0 obj << /Length 35 >> stream.0.24 0 0 0.24 0 0 cm /P0 Do ..endstream.endobj.6 0 obj << /Type /Page /Parent 7 0 R ./Resources << /XObject <> >> /Contents 4 0 R >> endobj.7 0 obj << /Type /Pages /Count 1 /Kids[6 0 R] /MediaBox[0 0 612 792] /Resources << /Procset [/PDF /ImageB /ImageC /Text] /Font << >> >> >> endobj.2 0 obj << /Type /Catalog /Pages 7 0 R >> endobj.xref.0 8.0000000000 65535 f .0000000009 00000 n .0000000694 00000 n .0000000000 00000 n .0000000162 00000 n .0000000359 00000 n .0000000443 00000 n .0000000549 00000 n .trailer << /Size 8 /Info 1 0 R /Root 2 0 R >>.startxref.718.%%EOF.
///////

The issue is that the Xobject I made works fine if I call it from the /contents part of the page, but blows up if I call it with '/P0 Do'...I need to put several overlays and some regular page data on the page, so I don't think I can do this from the /Contents, and I'd rather do it in a stream so I can encode it.

So basically, any help with /Xobject Forms and Do calls would be a great help. THe PDF spec doesn't really have very detailed instructions, we aren't using the SDK, and I can find no good examples of how to do this.....

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
