If you are dealing with image pdfs (only scanned
and saved as pdf) I believe that there is no way to
edit it - or if there is a way it probably can be used
with tiffs too.
If you are dealing with image pdf + hidden text or
editable pdf you can set permission rights to forbid
changes in the document.
With pdf + hidden text you can make search within
the file - I don't know if this is possible with tiff??
