Topic: CMYK Color adjustment on screen????

While displaying CMYK colors onscreen, I noticed that Adobe's products such as Acrobat and Illustrator adjust the CMYK values before drawing them on screen. I'm sure this is componensate for the difference in how the colors appear on screen vs on a printer. However, I can't seem to locate anything anywhere that discusses how this on-screen correction is accomplished. Clearly it is different from the CMYK to RGB conversion published in the PDF spec (6.2.4). For example, according to the spec a cmyk color of (1.0,0.0,0.0,0.0) should appear in rgb as (0,255,255). But in Acrobat it appears on screen as (0,162,198) with no colorspaces present. Does anybody know what conversion process is being applied?
