Topic: Posting PDF form data via XML Include...

I am using Aestiva's CGI program called HTML/OS. I have Acrobat 5.0.5 and am attempting to obtain field data from a posted PDF form.

It seems there are three export options for this:

1) FDF Include
3) XML Include

#1 Seems to give me an error when I post to my CGI html page.

#2 Works, but requires me to "allow" every field in ALL of my PDFs - very lengthy over time. And I do have a way to use a QUERY_STRING method, but it seems #2 uses the method of POST rather than GET, hence there is no query string to obtain.

#3 Might work for me as in HTML/OS, there exists several XML-specific functions for obtaining values. Problem is - nowhere can I find what the structure of the XML Include looks like that's returned to the form in my CGI program.

I've contact Adobe and suprisingly... their tech support doesn't have answers about how the HTML option posts, or what the XML option's data look like.

An example block of XML that's returned from a PDF form being posted would be more than helpful!

Any assistance out there would be greatly appreciated. I am stuck and frustrated....

Thank you,

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
