I have taken several multi-page guidelines and converted them from Word to pdf. Within these documents I have added links to other guidelines(pdf files). I am new to pdf and still learning the right way to do things. I have a few questions.

When users are trying to open the documents from the web site, the documents are either not opening or are taking so long to open that they time out. Is there a reason for this and if so, how do I correct it?

Second, as I mentioned I have links that go from one document to another. Right now when the user clicks on the link, the other document is opening within the same instance of the browser and the user has to use the browsers back button to get back to the original document. This also causes the problem in that it takes the user back to the first page of the original document. How can I get my links to open in a different instance of Adobe Reader and let the user close that instance and remain where they originally were?

Thanks for your help

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
