Topic: Calculation Script

I am having some problems with a calculation script. All I need to do is add the values of 8 fields and put them into another field. Easy... except they need to display as a negative number, and that result field needs to calculate in a negative fashion, so I cannot use the auto sum feature. Therefore I'm doing it with javascript.

I'm having a very weird error appear. I snag all the 8 fields in the result field, and then have the event.value equal the total. Even if it's positive, I still get this weird error.

If I put .01 in all 8 of the fields, then clear one of them out, I get the error that The Value Entered Does Not Match The Format of the Field. And the field specified is the resultant field. When I throw in a bunch of console.println's to see what is happeneing, the result fields comes up with a very strange number right after I clear the one field out, and right before it populates the resultant field. The number is "".

I don't know what it is doing. =P I tried to have the 8 fields determine if they have a null value, and if so populate with 0.00. However, that population comes in just AFTER the calculation is done, and so I still get the error.

I don't know if it's a rounding problem, or a null error, or what. Where on earth is that weird long number coming from?

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
