Quark EPS's are a temporay short term solution that should
have been fixed long ago. However it does serve some
functions. You can save a quark page {Usually and ad or chart
as an EPS and then open it in Illustrator. I highly recomend
making the page size equal to the image needed. Also put a
white {not Transparent} box behind the artwork. Group and
save as eps, open in Illustrator {check for reflow, although the
white bkg box constrains that usually.... BIG Disclaimer.}
You can also print your file to a PS {Postscript print} File and
Distill it to PDF then Open In Illustrator. But That creates a
whole mess of Clipping masks which I would advise getting rid
of.
If you go the Quark EPS route, make sure you do everything on
one computer, and make sure that all image links are uptodate
and all fonts are loaded. If the EPS is destined for another
location... convert all fonts to outlines once you are sure there
are no further revisions. {Keep a back up for yourself.
