In Acrobat 5.05, use the 'free text tool' and type something. Select the 'link' tool and Ctrl (W) click on the free text you just typed. Select the text to make a link. Make your link. Test it. Close Acrobat. Open only Reader. The link doesn't work. Any other links made any other way work except this one of course. It gets sickening from a publisher point of view when you want to design something nice for your customers, and it doesn't work because Adobe is so tight on the Reader functions. Loosen up a bit in my opinion.
