We have removed a discussion thread titled "FDF PDF Data
Merging" in this conference because it violates several
principles of good Forum Netiquette. We do not take such
action lightly, and to the greatest extent possible we
prefer to see the Forum threads be self-policing.
Unfortunately this topic got off on the wrong foot, ad we
felt it was easier to remove it and to post this
explanation. We invite the re-posting of the original topic,
with the following cautions in mind:
1. The Forum is a place for Acrobat/PDF users to share
expertise toward the goal of solving problems. It is NOT a
place to air out one's personal gripes about a particular
product or vendor. Other Forum members do not have
sufficient knowledge of important factors that might help to
determine the validity of a specific complaint. Therefore,
it's much too easy to disparage a company and/or product
unfairly in this electronic environment. We therefore prefer
to err on the side of caution, and strongly discourage
public venting that brings disrespect to and/or tarnishes a
company's reputation. The only conference area where we *do*
encourage venting is PDF-Talkback, and even there we prefer
that opinions for the most part be expressed to debate
issues rather than to attack companies and products.
2. The Forum works because a lot of generous people
willingly share their time and experience to assist each
other. When you post a question -- and please be sure to
include sufficient details and to write a meaningful
"Subject" line -- there is NO GUARANTEE of a viable
solution, or even an answer of any kind. That said, a great
many kinds of problems *do* get resolved here. Sometimes you
may not get an answer you like -- live with it! You got what
you paid for. By all means do NOT get into public
namecalling if you don't happen like an answer someone
volunteered! Posting insults to other Forum members is one
of the few ways you may quickly lose any and all
credibility; furthermore, if it continues, it'll lead to
being removed from the Forum by the administrators.
Because the thread cited above violated several of these
principles, it has been deleted.
Last, please feel free to communicate privately with Forum
administrators if you feel you have been treated poorly
within the Forum. We will and do take necessary actions --
in private -- to main this space as a professional resource.
