Topic: File does not begin with '%PDF-%

In my Asp-code, I show a pdf-file with binary-write. The strange thing is, when I try to open and display the file with a hardcoded filename, it works, when I open the same file with a dynamically build filename, I got the the errormessage 'File does not begin with '%PDF-%'. This is strange because when I do a response.write of my hardcoded filename and my dynamically build filename, they are both the same. Even when I print the ASCII-characters of both, they are identical. Convert my dynamic filename to string or concatenating a string to it doesn not help. Does anyone has an idea? When I print the bytes to a string it start with: '%PDF%-1.3%

This is the ASP-code:

fileName= request("FileName") 'in the request-object there is: SCAN_00125540.PDF
folder = mid(fileName,instr(1,fileName,"_")+1,8)
folder1= Left(folder,2)
folder2 = mid(folder,3,2)
folder3 = mid(folder,5,2)

sMappath= server.MapPath("/") & "\..\dat\" & folder1 & "\" & folder2 & "\" & folder3 & "\" & fileName 'This one does not work
'sMappath= server.MapPath("/") & "\..\dat\" & "00\12\55\SCAN_00125540.PDF" 'This one works

set o =Server.createObject("rxs.clsRXS")
Bytes = o.readBinFile(sMappath & "")
Response.ContentType = "application/PDF"
Response.Binarywrite Bytes
