I'm developing a web application that expose pdf documents but only to authorized users. I hide document's directory not pointing directly to pdf document, but using a COM object that first checks user's right, searches associated pdf file and at least creates a binary stream sending it to a specific web page. With method Response.BinaryWrite() the asp page opens the file opening an instance of the reader ... ok? maybe! Because on local machine it works fine (and it's not my target), but in some browser I have a blank page with the icon like 'image not found', in other I read the binary code as text... why?
here's asp page's code

dim objPdf
dim UserId
dim szIpAddress
dim filebinary
On Error Resume Next

Response.buffer = true
Response.contenttype = "application/pdf"
Response.Addheader "Content-Disposition", "inline; filename=user.pdf"
Response.CacheControl = "public"

szIpAddress = Request.ServerVariables("Remote_Addr")

Set objPdf = Server.CreateObject ("Test.PDF")
UserId = Session("UserId")

objPDF.userId = UserId
objPDF.ipAddress = szIpAddress

filebinary = objPDF.retDocument()
'It returns a byte array

Set objPDF = Nothing
Response.binarywrite filebinary

can anyone help me?

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
