We currently run our proofing cycle for the catalogs we make by
sending out PDFs through Microsoft Outlook 2000.
One of my client machines that sends out documents and receives
Pdfs in this manner is having strange problems that I just can't figure
When the client sends PDFs out this way, the receivers get corrupted
files. Not all pages in the PDF display, opend errors occur, and printing
results in gargled lines of code or errors. This problem did not happen
till this past week. The only things that have changed is we are
no longer going through a Proxy server to send out mail from our Macs
to our PC friends. Other users do not have this problem.
When this same problem client now receives email with PDF
attachments, she can read them fine, but they print with garbled
lines of code or line errors.
I have removed preferences, had the network people reset the users
Exchange account, uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook 2002. I have
checked for new printer drivers and description files and installed the
most updated ones.
We have tried on sending the PDF documents all three different
means of encoding. Still no dice. Any suggestions what to do next?
I really don't want to rebuild the whole machine for this small problem
(when you compare it to the overall functionality of the machine)
