Topic: Font Substitution Problems

I am having a problem that is described below. I found a very similar problem dated 5/2002 on your message boards with no solution. Any ideas or help out there? This is getting very frustrating.

I am using Acrobat 5.0.5 and PageMaker 7.0 with Windows 2000.

I am exporting to PDF from PageMaker to create a PDF. This problem also occurs when printing to any printer - even a post script printer.

The problem is that some of the Arial fonts are being substituted with Courier fonts in the final PDF document. (My distiller job options are set to embed all fonts and subset to 99%. I have the Arial fonts loaded on my computer.)

The font results for the PDF files are inconsistent. Sometimes just one line is changed to Courier and sometimes most of the page is changed to Courier. (even when it is the same document distilled with the same settings) Sometimes the entire document prints fine, sometimes it does not.

Has anyone out there experienced this problem?

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
