Topic: AVCommand problem

I have a working plug-in that provides batch services
through AVCommands. This has worked fine for some time.

I am now hearing from another plug-in developer trying
to use our plug-in with AVCommandWork.

The problem: we have code something like this whenever
we want to write a message from our code:

ASReportProc reportProc = NULL ;
AVCommand avCommand = ... the current avcommand or NULL ... ;
if ( avCommand != NULL ) reportProc = AVCommandGetReportProc ( avCommand ) ;

if ( reportProc == NULL )
{
... use AVAlertNote ...
}
else
{
... call reportProc ...
}

In other words, we expect an ASReportProc to have been created
so we can report to it. This works fine in batch sequences, and
Acrobat takes away the message and logs it.

But how does another plug-in do this? How does a third-party
plug-in associate an ASReportProc with an AVCommand in order
to get back messages from the AVCommand?

Surely Adobe didn't keep this private...?
