Topic: Acrodist.exe has generated errors

I have a Windows 2000 OS, Pentium 4, 256 MB RAM system and am using Acrobat 5.05.

When trying to save a file to PDF from FrameMaker 7.0, or when trying to create a PDF file from a document in Word 2000, I get the error message:

"Acrodist.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created."

after it has gone through most of the process. I've tried reinstalling Acrobat several times, including installation with a minimum of drivers and no (Norton 2002) virus scan loaded.

I searched for the error log in the Computer Management dialog, and in the Adobe Acrobat sub-directories to no avail. I've also searched the Adobe online help but haven't found this problem discussed. Anyone had this problem? Thanks.....
