Topic: Relative hyerlinks using PDFWriter (5.05) for Word (2000)

I have been using PDFWriter since it first came out With Acrobat 3 and Word 97. I am now upgrading to Acrobat 5.05 and Word 2000. I am trying to build a set of Word files on hard disk the have Word Hyperlinks to finished PDF files within a set of folders. These links point to the file by using the relative link form such as "../Topic2/Topic2File3.pdf" for references to part of topic2 form topic 1. Another example is a reference to another part of topic 1 from within topic 1 such as "Topic1File2.pdf". These link specifications worked fine in Acrobat 3 and Word 97. I could move all the files to an arbitrary location (such as onto a CD) and all the links worked in the way relative links are expected to work.

When I converted these files to Word 200 and use PDFWriter with Acrobat 5.05, all the links in the resultant PDF files are given absolute links such as "C:\HotTopics\Topic2\Topic2File3.pdf" or "C:\HotTopics\Topic1\Topic2File3.pdf".

Can anyone help me with how to generate a set of PDF files via PDFWrite that allow/use relative links? I need to build CD-ROM content on my hard disk and transfer it CD and still have it work, not to mention I can not control the drive letter assigned to the users' CD when they want to look at the CD I generate for them.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Cliff Nelson
