Topic: How to print pages with background images

I'm creating a document in MS Word 2000 and using PDFMaker (Acrobat 5.0.5) to create a PDF file. I'm printing to an HP Deskjet 990 Csi printer.

Everything was going well until I tried to add a background image to my document (to all pages after the first 4 pages). My document printed fine from both Word and Acrobat. I'm trying to add a jpg border down the left side of the page, kind of like I see in the Adobe Help file.

I added the image to the template page header in Word. It appears on the proper pages in Word, and prints fine from Word. When I create the PDF file, it displays fine, but I only get a blank page when I try to print a page with the graphic on it.

I then went and tried to print a similar (graphic on the left side) page from the Adobe Help file -- same problem.

What am I doing wrong, and what do I need to 'adjust' to be able to print these pages? Also, how can I enable recipients of my PDF file (with just Acrobat Reader) to be able to print it? (I won't know who they are; they'll download the file anonymously from the web.)

Thanks for your help.

- Jeff

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
