What do you mean "catch"? Extract the data from the PDF?
You aren't doing replacement? How would you do images, since they
aren't really "in the stream"??

Sure, there are LOTS of them - all depends on what
programming language(s) you wish to use, what format(s) you plan to
work with, etc.
