I have been delving into the Acrobat API today to achieve a couple of automation tasks using VB. I have successfully written routines to convert TIFF images to PDFs and knit individual page PDFs together to give me multi page documents. All of this is working well. My problem is that I want to use the PaperCapture addin on my PDFs. I have installed the Addin and can run it on the PDFs using the Acrobat UI, but I can't automate it. I have looked in the SDK and found that MenuItemExecute is documented there but I can't get it to work.

I am trying ...

I have found that unless I wait (Sleep API) for a while after opening my PDF that Acrobat seems to think that the menu item is still disabled. Even after getting over that one I still get nothing.

Am I calling this method incorrectly?

Is it a problem to do with the fact the PaperCapture addin throws up a dialog (which doesn't show when automating)?

Should I be trying this a different way?

Thanks in advance

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
