Topic: PDF to PCL on Win32 - This has been asked before

I know people have asked in the past for some sort of PDF to PCL conversion utility. I also know that if there IS any such utility, it has not been offered here.
I have looked at several options. The first was using GhostScript and ImageMagick (sic) to try to convert PDF's into raster PCL. It worked after a bit of tweaking, but it is so very slow on my machine that I shudder to think how long it might take to convert a feew thousand files.
Then there is the activePDF Spooler. This looks pretty promising as I could harness it to print to a file. Unfortunately it won't allow me to specify the file in advance of the conversion (print, really), so it's useless as a server application.
I don't care if I have to use a COM component or Perl or anything else for that matter as long as it will run on Win32 and produces good quality output.
Any suggestions? (And before anyone suggests LincolnCo, they have nothing even close to this.)
