I'm scoping a project where we have some existing PDF forms and would like to fill in some of the fields from our SQL server database. Our environment is JSP/servlets.

What I would like suggestions on is how we should generally go about doing this.

Recreate the forms in HTML and use a library like PDFLib to output the html + dynamic data into a PDF? (this means development time to recreate the PDF forms) or is there some way to utilize the existing PDF forms, and insert dynamic data into them? Suggested products? Example sites?

TIA.
